An agentless alternative to Tripwire
Alertica alerts you when files on your servers change, get deleted or never arrive. It connects over SFTP with a read-only login, so there's nothing to install and you're live the day you connect. You get a public price instead of a sales quote: $20 per site with setup and onboarding included, or a free plan that never expires.
- Nothing to install
- Free plan that never expires
Why teams pick Alertica over Tripwire
-
Nothing to install
No agent to roll out, patch or keep running on every server. Alertica connects from outside with a read-only login, and the first scan runs the day you connect.
-
Secure by design
Alertica only reads file names, sizes and timestamps. It never opens, changes or deletes your files. Logins are encrypted with AES-256, and every account uses two-step sign-in.
-
Set up with you
Setup and onboarding come with the price on Pro and Enterprise. We connect your first servers with you, build the rules that matter and go through the system with your team.
-
A price you can see
Use it free on one site for as long as you like, or pay $20 per site a month on Pro. No quote to wait for, and no rollout project to budget before you see an alert.

Running in three steps
-
Connect a server
Add a server or a web store with an SFTP, FTPS or FTP login. Alertica only lists files, so a read-only login is enough.
-
Set your rules
Pick a folder and say what matters: any change, more than 200 deleted files, or no new backup file since yesterday.
-
Get the alert
Alerts go to the people you choose by email or SMS, with Slack coming soon. Every scan is kept in scan history.
Questions from teams comparing
What changes if you move from Tripwire, and what doesn't.
-
Is Alertica file integrity monitoring?
Alertica is agentless change detection for files. It records each file's name, size, type, path and modified time, and alerts when files change, get deleted or stop arriving. It doesn't hash file contents the way Tripwire does, which also means it never opens your files.
-
Is it safe to give Alertica access to our servers?
Yes. Alertica is agentless and read-only: it lists files and never opens, changes or deletes them, so a read-only login is all it needs. The logins you give it are encrypted with AES-256, and every Alertica account uses two-step sign-in.
-
What does Alertica cost?
Free covers one site with weekly scans. Pro is $20 per site per month with daily scans, SMS alerts, and setup and onboarding with our team. Enterprise adds hourly scans and on-premises installation, priced by quote. Compare plans
-
Can Alertica replace Tripwire for PCI DSS?
Alertica does both things PCI DSS v4.0.1 requirement 11.5.2 asks of a change-detection mechanism: it alerts you when critical files are changed, added or deleted, and it compares them at least once a week, daily on Pro. Every scan lands in scan history, ready for your assessor. It compares file details rather than contents, so if your assessor wants content hashes too, pair it with a hashing tool on those hosts.
-
How is this different from open source Tripwire?
Open Source Tripwire is a free tool you install and run on each Linux or Unix server, which keeps its own database of file hashes. Alertica runs outside the server, so nothing on the server has to be installed, updated or protected from an attacker.
